Boating is enjoyed by many people in types and designs of boats almost as varied as their users. Operators of boats should be aware of the various regulations governing the safety of life at sea and must comply with these. Some of these regulations list the equipment to be carried by various types of vessels; this must be regarded as a minimum (refer to Marine and Safety Tasmania at www.mast.tas.gov.au for these requirements).
